Sachiko Yamano, President of JICE, visited the Embassy of Bangladesh Tokyo on November 2nd, 2018, and exchanged views with Her Excellency Ms. Rabab Fatima, Ambassador of Bangladesh, on further collaboration through JDS Project and JENESYS Program.
Ambassador Fatima mentioned that the JDS Project is a true embodiment of the fruitful collaboration that exists between Japan and Bangladesh. She requested for enhancing Japanese Language Course for JDS Fellows and for introducing internship/placement for the Fellows to provide them with a practical knowledge on Japanese work environment and culture, and further discussed to explore a possibility of collaboration with Ms. Yamano in this regard.
Ambassador Fatima also requested Ms. Yamano to increase the number of women JDS fellows from Bangladesh and thus contribute to women’s professional advancement. Both sides exchanged views on prospective countermeasures for the issue.
In addition, JICE explained about the delegation from Bangladesh under Japan’s Friendship Ties Program “JENESYS”. Ambassador Fatima emphasized that it is very beneficial for the young generation to deepen understanding of positive characteristics of Japan. She reiterated her full support and continued commitment to the Program.
Through the various human resource development activities including JDS Project and JENESYS Program, JICE will contribute further collaboration between Japan and Bangladesh.
