Fifteen well-experienced doctors dispatched from the Jiangsu Provincial Commission of Health and Family Planning of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as “China”) arrived in Japan on August 31st 2014. They’ve gone through lectures and visit for overall medical knowledge, and started their training program from September 8th at such institutes as Tokyo Woman’s Medical University Hospital, National Cancer Center, Tokyo Medical University Hospital, Juntendo University, National Institute of Radiological Sciences. They were trained by doctors for about 3 months, and finished all of their training program on November 25th 2014.
This project has been developed under the cooperation between Jiangsu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and JICE to nurture high-level human resources for Japan and Jiangsu Province. It is one of the projects aimed to develop human resources for young prospective medical doctors of Jiangsu Province of China.
During their stay in Japan, they met with Mr. Seihan Mori, the Head of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and visited the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. They also enjoyed home visits to Japanese families. Ms. Sachiko Yamano, the president of JICE, hosted the dinner party for Chinese doctors on October 1st.
Wrap-up session was held on November 25th 2014. At the session, the Chinese doctors stated that they have achieved so much through this training program. They said that they acquired advanced technologies of diagnosis and treatments in their respective fields, attended clinical case conferences and meetings, observed surgeries, and read through various documents. They also said that they have learned how to establish a firm relationship with utmost care, and how to run a hospital. They have been awarded with the certificate for the completion of the training program from Ms. Sachiko Yamano at the end of the session.
At the farewell party after the wrap-up session, Chinese doctors and Japanese doctors who accepted the Chinese doctors enjoyed the final time of this program. Each Japanese doctor made some speeches regarding some episodes of Chinese doctors. They also made a statement saying ‘I hope that all the trained doctors would go back to China and make effort for spreading and developing all the knowledge and techniques that they have acquired in Japan’. Dr. Wang Shoufeng, leader of the doctors, mentioned that he hoped China-Japan relationship would keep making progress in terms of medical development, making full use of the network established in Japan. He also expressed his gratitude for all these concerned who supported the Project.
JICE will make an effort to improve our training program based on this year’s training review, and continuously contribute to human recourse development in the medical sector in China and Japan.
