On October 22, Senior Vice President Mr. YAMANA Kenji received a visit by Mr. Jason Czyz, Co-President of Institute of International Education (IIE) and Mr. Jonah Kokodyniak, Executive Vice President of IIE. Senior Vice President Mr. YAMANA explained the current status of JICE’s major projects and activities of JICE’s overseas offices. In response, IIE expressed their hope to resume collaborations, such as personnel exchanges, that had been interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, IIE explained the QUAD Fellowship, which targets Japan, Australia, India, and the U.S., and expressed their expectation for JICE’s cooperation in implementing the program in Japan. We also discussed the Japanese government’s initiative to accept international students and the “Training Course for Promoting Stable Employment of Foreign Residents,” which Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare commissioned to JICE for its implementation.

IIE is a non-profit organization that administers the Fulbright Scholarship Program of the U.S. Department of State. Established in 1919 and headquartered in New York, IIE has been collaborating with JICE since 2014, sharing expertise and improving the quality and added value of our services. We have also cooperated on the “KAKEHASHI Project” launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under the Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs. JICE aims to further strengthen its organizational collaboration with IIE in the future.
